地図を見ると分かるが、昔はハチ公広場のあるJRの北口出口が人々が渋谷の街に出る最大の出口であった。

ここから、西武A,Bの右手を通り、まっすぐ進むと電力館の前を通って原宿方向、西武Aの角を左折すると、井の頭通でＮＨＫへ、次の西武Bの角を左手方向に進むと公園通りで代々木公園へ、

西武へ行かずに左手方向に進むと繁華街のセンター街へ、駅から通りを渡って左手に進むと道玄坂へ、１０９の右手へ進むと文化村通りへ。

この様にこの交差点は様々な通りへの起点であり、また、行く人々と帰る人々が混ざりあって大変混雑する交差点になっている。

これがスクランブル交差点が大混雑する理由であるが、こんな所が訪日外国人に取って有名な観光地になるとは誰も思わなかったであろう。

As you can see from the map, the north exit of JR Station, where Hachiko Square is located, used to be the main exit for pople etering Shibuya.

From here, go to the right of Seibu and go straight, passing in front of the Electric Power Museum and heading towards Harajuku, if you turn left at the corner of Seibu A, you will reach NHK on Inokasira-dori. If you go left at the next corner of Seibu B, you will reach Yoyogi Park on Koen-dori.

If you don't go to Seibu and go left, you will each Center-gai in the downtown area. If you cross the street from the station and go left, you will reach Dogenzaka, If you go to the right of 109, you will reach Bunkamura-dori.

In this way, this intersection is the starting point for various streets, and it is also a very crowded intersection with people going out and people going home.

This is why the Scramble Crossing is so crowded, but no one would have thought that a place like this would become a famous tourist spot for foreign visitors to Japan.
